How to Hard Reset SONY PlayStation 3 Slim

First method:

1. Begin by switching off the PlayStation 3 by holding down the Power key for a few seconds.
2. You have to wait until your device is completly switched off.
3. Then press and hold the Power key for a few seconds.
4. Let go of held button as soon as you hear two beeps. The first one when you first press, and the seconds on about 5-8 seconds later.
5. Afterwards connect the DualShock 4 controller by using the USB cable.
6. Then press the PS button on the controller
7. From the following menu scrol down to Restore PS3 System and confirm it by pressing X key.

Second method:

1. At first, hold down the Power key to switch on your Playstation.
2. Then press the Right key on your pad in order to select Settings and open it.
3. Afterwards from the following options choose Initialization.
4. Then select Initialize PS4 and choose Full options (it's the recommended one).
5. Confirm the whole operation by tapping Initialize one more time and Yes to begin the operation.
6. Excellent! The factory reset is done.
